 Job Summary:

The Ammonia Refrigeration System Technician is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our large-scale ammonia refrigeration systems and associated equipment. This includes compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, and control systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to preventive maintenance, and an unwavering commitment to safety and regulatory compliance (including OSHA, EPA, and any local Saudi Arabian regulatory standards).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Operation & Monitoring: Operate, monitor, and document the performance of ammonia refrigeration systems, ensuring they function within specified parameters. This includes logging readings, analyzing trends, and making necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency and safety.
  • Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) tasks as scheduled, including oil changes, filter replacements, belt adjustments, and calibrations. Identify and report potential issues through predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in refrigeration equipment, including mechanical and electrical components. Address issues promptly to minimize downtime and impact on production.
  • Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all company safety policies, Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, Risk Management Plans (RMP), and relevant environmental and safety regulations. Participate in safety training, emergency response drills, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of ammonia handling procedures.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, refrigerant usage, and safety inspections
  • System Integrity: Perform regular inspections and testing of system components, including leak detection, to ensure the integrity and safety of the ammonia system.
  • Emergency Response: Act as a key member of the emergency response team for ammonia-related incidents, following established protocols to ensure personnel and plant safety.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance personnel, production staff, and external contractors to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure efficient plant operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving system efficiency, reliability, and safety. Participate in an ongoing training program to enhance skills and knowledge.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in industrial refrigeration, HVAC-R, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience operating, maintaining, and repairing industrial ammonia refrigeration systems in a manufacturing, food processing, cold storage, or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of refrigeration principles, thermodynamics, and industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Experience with various types of compressors (screw, reciprocating), condensers (evaporative), evaporators, pumps, and associated control systems (e.g., PLCs).
  • Familiarity with PSM, RMP, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.

 

Salary :
